This is a busy weekend for Bantam, Men, and Women curlers in Northern Ontario.
The last two Bantam teams (one per gender) earn berths in the Tim Hortons 2014 NOCA Bantam Provincials. The East Challenge has 4 boys teams and 4 girls teams competing at the Deer Trail CC in Elliot Lake, while the West Challenge sees 2 boys teams and 2 girls teams competing at the Stratton CC.

On the Men’s side, 9 men’s teams will compete for three spots at the Travelers Men’s 2014 NOCA Provincial. The West Qualifier takes place at the Fort Frances CC and three teams will advance to the provincial. The East Qualifier will take place January 23 – 26 at the McIntyre CC in Timmins. The provincial takes place February 5 – 9, 2014 also at the McIntyre CC. 2 teams (Jeff Currie, Fort William CC, and Mike Jakubo, Sudbury CC) have already qualified for the provincial through CTRS points.

The Ontario Scotties is also taking place at Soo Curlers to determine who will represent Ontario at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Friday is a busy day with the round robin completing with the 7:30 p.m. draw.Event Site
