In light of the announced cancellation of Curling Canada’s 2020 National Curling Club Championships (read news here), it is with great difficulty that the Northern Ontario Curling Association has decided not to host their 2020 Provincial Mixed and Curling Club Championships, which had already been re-scheduled to October after being disrupted by COVID-19 this past spring.
Without sufficient information regarding the state of public health and its implications on the ability to operate competitions, we are confident that this is the correct course of action at this time.
Whereas regional competitions were held and qualifiers decided for the 2020 Club Championship Provincials, these teams will be offered an automatic berth into an expanded field for 2021 Provincial Curling Club Championships March 25-28, 2021.
A 2021 Mixed Provincial is still planned for March 4-7, 2021 at the North Bay Granite Club.
