The Northern Ontario Curling Association is excited to be striking a new committee aimed at engaging youth between the ages of 15-24 in the development of recreational and competitive curling.
Mirroring the composition of the organization's Board of Directors, the new Youth Advisory Committee will welcome representation from each of the association's six regions (elected by the clubs in those regions), as well as three additional members appointed by the Board. The Youth Advisory Committee will be tasked with making recommendations to NOCA's Board of Directors and Executive Director on matters of importance to youth curlers and with the goal of increasing appeal and participation amongst youth in club programs, school curling activities and playdown competitions; as well as cultivating increased volunteer engagement amongst youth towards shaping the future of the game.
Regional representatives will be elected by clubs during their annual Spring Meeting on Thursday April 15th at 6pm CT / 7pm ET. Interested candidates must inform their Region Director by no later than 24 hours in advance of the Spring Meeting.
